A Clear Vision for Independence

Welcome to my priorities. I want residents to feel confident that their city is in steady, capable hands — that decisions are deliberate, finances are transparent, and their voices carry real weight in City Hall. My commitment is not shaped by political winds or headlines, but by disciplined leadership, clear standards, and consistent follow-through. Public trust is not automatic; it is earned through action. Every vote I cast will be guided by integrity, fiscal responsibility, and a firm commitment to what truly strengthens our community. Together, we can build a stronger, more accountable Independence.

Financial Transparency & Responsible Budgeting

Residents deserve clear visibility into how public funds are allocated and how long-term debt decisions are made. When finances are difficult to track, confidence erodes.

I will advocate for restoring detailed line-item budgeting, strengthening public reporting on bond obligations, and providing transparent tracking of TIF and CID funds and major capital projects. Taxpayers should not have to search through documents to understand where their money is going — clarity should be standard, not optional.

Infrastructure Before Expansion

Deferred maintenance doesn’t disappear — it compounds. Roads, bridges, and public facilities must be maintained before new large-scale projects or additional long-term debt are approved. I support a “maintenance first” approach to capital planning that prioritizes safety, durability, and long-term financial stability.

Strong infrastructure is not optional — it is foundational.

Accountable Growth. Real Representation.

Accountable growth requires clear guardrails and meaningful public input. Economic development should deliver measurable public benefit, not speculation. I support performance-based agreements, full transparency before commitments are finalized, and development decisions that respect infrastructure capacity and long-term financial stability.

Representation matters just as much as development. District 1 residents should never feel disconnected from decisions that affect their homes, taxes, or neighborhoods. I will hold regular district listening sessions, provide consistent updates, and ensure that community voices carry real weight in City Hall.

Strong governance standards are essential to both. I will support strict conflict-of-interest enforcement and ensure major decisions align clearly with charter requirements and transparent public procedures. Accountability is not optional — it is foundational.

“My decisions will be guided by principle, not pressure.”
